Operating cadence beats strategy.

Most properties that are underperforming do not lack strategy. They lack cadence. A weekly trading review and a monthly P&L walkthrough will outperform a strategy off site, every time.

Cadence as an operating system

A property running well has a rhythm: daily HOD stand-up at a fixed time, a weekly commercial and trading review, a monthly P&L walkthrough, a quarterly performance review. Each one has a published agenda, named owner and visible action log.

What strategy off sites do not fix

Two day off sites produce documents. They rarely change Monday morning. The cheapest, highest leverage operational change in most hotels is to publish the cadence, hold the meetings, close the action log and repeat it for three months.
